Marching Band

Marching season is hands-down one of our favorite times of the year! Kicking off at the end of July and running through the first week of November when the band performs in the Division II Tennessee Marching Band State Championship.

Band Camp

Marching season kicks off at band camp, held at the end of summer, just before the school year begins. It’s a crucial time for new band members to master marching fundamentals and memorize music, while the entire group starts weaving together this year’s show. Spanning about a week, band camp wraps up with a special preview performance on the final day. It’s always a fun performance for family and friends to see what the band has been working so hard on all week. This is also a great time for parents to sign up to volunteer to help out during marching season. There’s a place here for everyone!

Band camp can be tough, but there’s plenty of fun too! Activies, yummy food, and sectionals break up being out in the sun (or rain).

Practices

The band strives to continually get better throughout the season so practices are important. They practice multiple times each week.

Football Games

The band loves to cheer on Champion Football! We attend home games and many away games as well. Stand tunes are a highlight and getting to perform our show at halftime is the icing on the cake!

Competitions

Marching band competitions are where we really get to shine! We compete at competitions both locally and sometimes in other states. In 2023 and 2024 we competed in Bands of America competitions making finals for the first time in 2024. We placed first in our class in 2024 at BOA Alabama. Competitions are long days where you can really see how hard that the students have worked.

Parades

The band loves to be a part of the Bedford County community! We usually march in the Veteran’s Day Parade in November and in the Christmas Parade in December. It’s always so great to join other bands and bring music to the streets and parade route!
